Head of the Department

         The head of the department is Ph.D. Yerzhanov Koblandy.

         Associate Professor of the Department "General and Theoretical Physics", c.ph.-m. sc. and Ph.D. K.K. Yerzhanov was born in 1975 in Petropavlovsk, North Kazakhstan region. Nationality - Kazakh. In 1996 he graduated with a bachelor's degree and in 1998 with honors a master's degree at the Department of Theoretical Physics of the Faculty of Physics of KazNU. Al-Farabi, specialty 01.04.02 - “Theoretical Physics”. From 1998 to 2000 was a postgraduate student. After graduating from graduate school, from 2001 to 2006 worked as a lecturer of the department "Higher Mathematics and Physics" KazNAU, Almaty. At the same time, he worked as a researcher at the Physico-Technical Institute (Almaty).

         In 2003, he defended his c.ph.-m.sc. thesis on the topic "Research of non-stationary two-component cosmological models" at KazNU, specialty 01.04.02 - "Theoretical Physics". In 2006-2008 he studied at the Ph.D. doctoral program in the specialty 01.04.00-"Physics" at the ENU. L.N. Gumilyov. Since 2008, he worked as an associate professor of the department "General and Theoretical Physics" and deputy dean for scientific work of the FTF ENU. L.N. Gumilyov. He was also the chairman of the Council of Young Scientists of the University. He was a member and scientific secretary of the dissertation council in physics (Ph.D.) at ENU. L.N. Gumilyov.

        He has twice won a scholarship for young and talented scientists (2006-2008, 2008-2010). Conducts classes in three languages: Kazakh, Russian and English. He also actively participates in the organization of school and student olympiads, both university and city.

        In addition to teaching, he is actively engaged in science, participates in scientific projects. At the moment, it has the following main scientific parameters: H-index is 6, and the citation index is more than 100 according to the Web of Science database.

        Under his leadership, 3 Ph.D. dissertations were defended.

         Since 2021, he has been the head of the Department of General and Theoretical Physics.

Myrzakulov Ratbay Kagazovich is a theoretical physicist from Kazakhstan.  He was born on February 1, 1954, in the state farm named after G. Dimitrov (now village Konyratkol) of Takhtakopir region in a family of Kazakh peasants.  Father is Karazhanov Myrzakul, mother is Parmenova Kagaz.

In 1972 he entered and in 1979 he graduated from the Faculty of Physics of the S. M. Kirov Kazakh State University. Postgraduate studies were held at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (Dubna, Russia). Ph.D. thesis defended at the P. Lumumba University of Friendship of Peoples (Moscow, 1988) in the specialty 01.04.02 - “Theoretical and Mathematical Physics”. Doctoral thesis defended in the al-Farabi Kazakh National University, specialty 01.04.02 - “Theoretical Physics” (2002). Founder and Director of the Research Institute “Eurasian International Center for Theoretical Physics” (EICTP). Head of the Department of General and Theoretical Physics of L.N. GumilyovENU.

He worked at leading international research centers and universities in the USA, Japan, India, Western Europe, and Russia. In particular, he worked for 1.5 years at the University of California (USA). Academician of the European Academy of Natural Sciences (Germany). Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan. Laureate of the state prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2017 in the field of science and technology named after al-Farabi. The main articles of the author are published in such prestigious American and Western European journals with high impact factors in the Web of Science, such as the European Physical Journal C with impact factor 5.172, Physics Letters B with impact factor 4.254, Journal of Cosmology and AstroParticle Physics with impact factor 5.126, Physical Review D with impact factor 4.394, Nuclear Physics B with impact factor 3.285
