Dear students of the faculty of Physics and technology!

Practice and employment

Professional practice is an important part of the educational process for the main educational program of professional higher education and is included in the work curricula of all forms of training in accordance with the requirements of the State Compulsory Education Standard.

In accordance with the state compulsory education standard of the Republic of Kazakhstan, undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students in the specialties of Nuclear Physics and Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology undergo the following types of professional practice:

The main content of professional practice is the implementation of practical, training or production tasks in organizations that correspond to the nature of the professional activities of a future specialist. Professional practice allows you to effectively combine theoretical knowledge with practical training and is aimed at instilling students with skills specific to the chosen educational program.

The start and end date of professional practice are set by the schedule of professional practice of students in accordance with the academic calendar, work curriculum, and educational program.

The organization of practice is aimed at ensuring continuous and consistent mastery of students' professional activities in accordance with the requirements for the level of training of the graduate.

The general educational-methodical guidance of practice is carried out by the graduating department.

The department concludes agreements with enterprises, institutions, organizations for fixing them as bases of practice and coordinate with them calendar schedules for students to practice.

The distribution of students into practice is carried out in accordance with the availability of production bases, the number of places at each base, the student’s academic work at the department. Bases of industrial practice are organizations corresponding to the profile of the direction (or related organizations).

The main bases of professional practice are:

Undergraduates of the specialty “Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology can conduct research practice in the departments of the department at the enterprises of PRP Tselinenergoremont JSC (Nur-Sultan), Kentau Transformer Plant JSC (Kentau) and AsiaTrafo LLP (Shymkent), Asia STROI Bekenov B.K.

To increase the practice base, Memorandums of cooperation and tripartite agreements were signed with the following enterprises:

  • Republican Diagnostic Center (Nur-Sultan);
  • Committee for Atomic and Energy Supervision and Control of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
  • Republican Space Communication Center;
  • JSC "National Company" Kazakhstan Karysh Sapary ";
  • "Oncological center of akimat of Nur-Sultan";
  • Hospital of the Medical Center for Management of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nur-Sultan;
  • Center of tomotherapy and nuclear medicine "Umyt", Nur-Sultan;
  • "Kazakhstan Nuclear Power Plants", Nur-Sultan;
  • KGP at the PHV "Center for Nuclear Medicine and Oncology", Semey;
  • "Altyn Keremet Service";

The advisers of scientific and industrial practice compile tasks during the internship, according to the specifics of the specialty and the tasks of scientific work. During the practice, students and undergraduates, as well as doctoral students, carry out theoretical and experimental work on the topics of practice.

Graduates of the specialty "Nuclear Physics" have a priority right to be employed by government bodies in the field of atomic energy use, for example:

  • The state body for the management and development of state enterprises in the field of atomic energy use (Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan);
  • State body for control and supervision in the field of atomic energy use (Committee for Atomic and Energy Control and Supervision of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan).

At present, in the Republic of Kazakhstan, graduates of our department are in demand by organizations: the National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Institute of Nuclear Physics, the Nuclear Technology Park, the Nuclear Medicine Center of the Republican Diagnostic Center, Hospital of the Medical Center for Management of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the uranium-processing enterprises of NAC KazAtomProm JSC. In connection with the development strategy of the nuclear industry in the Republic of Kazakhstan and the plans for the construction of a nuclear power plant, the relevance of this specialty is not in doubt.
